The dissertation is neither a Ph.D. thesis nor an extended essay. It need not generate a mass of 'primary' data or 'original theory’; however neither should it be entirely derivative. It may incorporate some research methodology and include some empirical work, and should demonstrate the student's own ability to develop ideas and lines of thought. Within these broad guidelines, it is possible to envisage a variety of different sorts of work.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE THESIS WORK
The shape and structure of the work can vary according to the problems and possible practices for the observed empirical dimension in the matter; however, it is imperative that the thesis includes the following:
1 - A problem
This part corresponds to a description of the questions and issues identified. It may be, for example to validate a hypothesis, a questioning of practice or theoretical models. This issue must meet the needs and expectations of the business or professional community by addressing a real problem facing the business or professional community.
This need for clarification of an issue is not purely academic emphasis. Indeed, the formalization of this problem is significant to the participant in his/her deliberations to render a more effective approach. We also would rule out a thesis that attempts to artificially combine a range of approaches, methods, concepts and tools seen during the programme without a prior articulation of the problem or issue under consideration.
2 - A methodology
This part outlines, precisely describes and justifies an analytical framework and methods for collecting and processing data. It is essential that there be full transparency of the process of collecting and analyzing data. The limitations of the methodology used must be identified, described and justified in the context of the thesis work.
For privacy reasons, it is quite acceptable for the client name(s) and/or the details for the thesis is obscured, however this detail must be available for inspection if requested by the supervisor,who is similarly bound by client confidentiality.
This work of clarification of the methodology should reveal that the limitations are known to the participant in relation to a problem treated. It also allows readers to validate the conclusions that the participant highlights and identify any limitations.
3- Results and Recommendations
The results of a professional thesis cannot be limited to a description of a situation. They must be analysed and provide concrete evidence to answer the initial problem. The candidate should find an appropriate mode of presentation of these results. The thesis should also include a brief presentation of the host company (operations, sales, workforce, products, locations, organization) and industry aimed primarily at understanding the context in which the participant is changing, at what level of the organization the sponsor or student operates, and the position of the company in its competitive environment.
A glossary clarifies technical terms or abbreviations used in the text are welcome.

Finally, a bibliography is required: it must contain scientific references and / or academic and not just professional references.
DRAFT DISSERTATIONS
The work plan must include time for the supervisor to read a draft of the dissertation before it is submitted. This may be "one chapter at a time", or a complete draft, as suits student and supervisor. Students should not expect their supervisor to read more than one draft, although individual supervisors may choose to do more than this, at their discretion.
FORMAT/PRESENTATION
The first (cover) page is printed on a compulsory paper bearing the letterhead of the school. A copy of this letterhead will be sent electronically upon request by the program assistant. On this first page the student need to include the following (centred horizontally):

Participant: First and Last Name
Supervisory Professor: First and Last Name.
The length of the report should be as noted above. The work must be printed on A4 paper,double-spaced, on one side of the page only, with a margin of at least 35mm at the binding edge and 15mm elsewhere. All pages must be numbered consecutively and the report securely bound. A footer containing the candidates name should appear at the bottom of each page excluding the cover page.
TYPICAL DISSERTATION REPORT STRUCTURE
There are many different ways of structuring a report but the following may be a useful guide.
Cover Page (as described above)
Acknowledgements – to those who have assisted the author.
Contents -listing all the main sections and appendices with page numbers. Summary - one or two pages giving either an abstract (theoretical type study) or an executive.
Introduction – Presenting information on the field and question or hypothesis under research. Apart from this, the chapter focuses on the topicality, main objectives, tasks involved in the research, as well as the research novelty, subject and object.General Literature Review – covering the topic of the dissertation and giving the academic content.
Method/Methodology - approach frameworks/models and reasons for choosing these,methods of collecting and analysing data. This may be a separate chapter or could be included at appropriate points throughout the Dissertation.
Major Sections/Main Text - as many sections or chapters as necessary to cover different aspects of the study. It is in these sections that data collection, modelling, data analysis, evaluation, etc., will be dealt with.
Conclusions/Recommendations - summary of overall findings, discussion of implications, possible courses of action, constraints and limitations.
References - proper and full citing of literature and other sources used in the Dissertation.
Appendices - supporting material, often detailed, but not essential for the reader to make sense of the main 'story'. No appendix material should be included unless it is referred to in the main text.
